Scott Wimmer is a retired professional NASCAR driver from Wausau, Wisconsin. He was born on January 26, 1976, and began his racing career in the late 1990s, competing in the American Speed Association (ASA) and the NASCAR Busch Series.
Wimmer made his NASCAR Cup Series debut in 2000, driving part-time for Bill Davis Racing. He later competed full-time in the Busch Series, where he had considerable success, earning several wins and finishing in the top five in the championship standings.
Wimmer continued to race in the Cup Series, driving for various teams such as Richard Childress Racing and Morgan-McClure Motorsports. He earned several top-ten finishes but did not secure a win in the Cup Series.
After struggling to find a permanent ride in NASCAR, Wimmer transitioned to racing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the Xfinity Series. He eventually retired from full-time racing in 2013.
